[coldsync-hackers] <<NewBie>>coldsync 2.2.5 with kernel 2.4.16

Hi folkz,
got some probelm using coldsync with my sony clie usb cradle
as of 2.4.16 the device /dev/usb/tts/0 can only be detected when i press
the hotsync button:

hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 32
Manufacturer: Sony Corp.
Product: Palm Handheld
usbserial.c: Sony Cli
4.0 converter detected visor.c: Sony Clie
 4.0: Number of ports: 2
visor.c: Sony Clie 4.0: port 1, is for Generic use and is bound to ttyUSB0
visor.c: Sony Clie 4.0: port 2, is for HotSync use and is bound to ttyUSB1
visor.c: visor_startup - error getting first unknown palm command
visor.c: visor_startup - error getting second unknown palm command
usbserial.c: Sony Clie 4.0 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or
usb/tts/0 for devfs)
usbserial.c: Sony Clie 4.0 converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or
usb/tts/1 for devfs)

then i start running coldsync...
coldsync -mI

it gave me:

Please press the hotsync button.

And the whole thing just hang there.. and i happen to come across these
lines at /usr/src/linux/Documentation/usb/usb-serial.txt :

NOTE:
This means that in order to talk to the device, the sync button must be
pressed BEFORE trying to get any program to communicate to the device.
This goes against the current documentation for pilot-xfer and other
packages, but is the only way that it will work due to the hardware
    in the device.

Any known work around for this?

Newbiez..
